WORLD BUILDING THROUGH COSTUME

Hello I’m Timmy, a Queer nerdy creative based in sunny Belfast Northern Ireland.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

I am an Art College graduate with almost 20 years experience in costume for Film and Tv.

I have designed a wealth of Indy feature films and shorts which has allowed me to developed my own visual style and aesthetic.

My design experience ranges from High End Television (Period and Contemporary) to Youth Dramas and Comedy. A background in art direction and design through the arts has ensured my creative approach to costume. Ideal for productions who require a collaborative and creative designer.

I have worked with a wonderful acting crop such as Andrea Riseborough, Aiden Gillen, Bertie Carvel and Stephen Moyer amongst others. Dedicating myself to character and memorable costume design.

Since we might possibly be working together in the future I want to take the opportunity to let you know a little bit more about myself.

As a costume designer collaboration and communication is key. I thrive creatively when there is an openness and a buzz around a project. From short films to major television series / feature films I am able to use the same bespoke and thoughtful approach to every scale of project.

I have spent my entire design career building a costume aesthetic that reflects my creative intention for each production I design.

I also design with an environmental mindset.

I endeavour to use Vintage and previously loved garments as much as possible throughout my design process. Using found fabrics for costume makes and upcycling garments contributes greatly to this endeavour.

Costume in film and Tv is an incredibly wasteful department and we can all do our part to be positive ambassadors for our environment.

Above all else I have the ambition to be a designer who will always reach for the stars and contribute whole heartedly to the characters that are gifted to me.

I would love to pitch for your project.

COLLIDER REVIEW - Maggie Lovitt

Unless a British mystery series is a period piece (like Grantchester), costuming rarely comes into the conversation. Yet, Art Detectives makes costume design a key piece of the series’ production value. Moyer isn’t the only one wearing tailored velvet jackets and twill waistcoats — each episode delivers a well-dressed array of suspects and grieving family members clad in ensembles that look clipped straight out of a posh Ralph Lauren ad. Kudos to Timmy White (The Dig, Dalgliesh) for one-upping Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen with some of the best-dressed elites on television.

GAZETTELLY REVIEW - Ayishah Ayat Toma

Dressed for Success, Built for More

The production of “Art Detectives” understands its appeal lies in the details. The writing creates a rich, believable world populated by interesting figures. A standout element is the costume design, which outfits its cast of suspects and grieving relatives in an array of tailored velvet and fine tweeds.

This aesthetic choice is more than just decoration; it reinforces the series’ focus on the affluent, cloistered sphere where these crimes take place. The show is a perfect example of a streaming service like Acorn TV leaning into its niche, delivering a polished, specific product for a dedicated audience.
